The War of the Worlds

  • The Steve Allen Theatre 4773 Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90027 United States

A Halloween fright-night spectacular!

The final of our five re-enactments of the history-making broadcast: "The War of the Worlds". Originally performed by Orson Welles and his Mercury Radio Theatre the night before Halloween in 1938, the broadcast created such a stir that people actually thought there was a Martian invasion underway in Grover's Mill, New Jersey.

Our show will feature a dramatic, faithful rendition of the original broadcast as well as a short, opening piece about the tumultuous life of Orson Welles.

Our special guest star will be: Phil Proctor from the famed sketch comedy troupe, "The Firesign Theatre"!

Running time is approximately 90min with no intermission, to best allow for a proper Martian Invasion. There or may not be additional ghouls and goblins in the theatre. Please consult your astrologer and shamanic counsellor for how best to prepare.
