The War of the Worlds, with guest star: Jamie Farr!

  • The Steve Allen Theater

Saturday night, October 29th: 2016

Fake Radio and Trepany House present our Halloween tradition: a chilling, 100% live re-enactment of the history-making broadcast of: "The War of the Worlds".

Originally performed the night before Halloween in 1938, the broadcast created such a stir that people actually thought there was a Martian invasion underway in Grover's Mill, New Jersey.

The landmark broadcast catapulted Orson Welles and his Mercury Radio Theatre into the national spotlight. Our show will feature a dramatic, faithful rendition of that original broadcast as well as a short, opening piece about the tumultuous life of Orson Welles.

Our special guest star will be: Jamie Farr from the hit TV show M*A*S*H!

Running time is approximately 90min with no intermission, to best allow for a proper Martian Invasion. There or may not be additional ghouls and goblins in the theatre. Please consult your astrologer and shamanic counsellor for how best to prepare.

It's that time!

Once a year, we dust off the Christmas tree & Menorah and do something funny, light & warm to help everyone celebrate the holiday season in Southern California.  This year, we'll do it again, this time on a Sunday night at our home in Hollywood: The Steve Allen Theatre.

On Sunday, December 13th, we'll re-enact the touching and hysterical 1947 radio broadcast of "It's a Wonderful Life". Our guest stars will be none other than Fred Willard: one of the most recognizable faces in comedy for the past 40 years; Paul Willson from "Cheers" and "It's Gary Shandling's Show" and Lynne Stewart from "The Pee Wee Herman Show".

So come all ye merry gentlemen and gentle ladies: it's time for holiday cheer,  it's time for live theatre and it's time for us to delight the pants off of you...because THAT'S what Christmas is all about.
